Founded in 1862, the now fifth-generation, family-run business is headquartered in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland.

The company also has a second maltings in south Norfolk. The Tivetshall St Margaret site was acquired in 1986 and has been producing malt since 1872. Together, the two maltings produce more than 300,000 tonnes of malt per year.

Simpsons Malt’s acquisition of agricultural merchant, John Guthrie Ltd, in 2011 meant the company’s operations were spread further geographically, extending beyond the Scottish Borders and north of England. Due to these developments, Simpsons Malt required several vehicles to keep up with their growing operations.

Simpsons Malt chose to work with Synergy Car Leasing and their dedicated Account Manager, Matthew, in 2014 due to Synergy’s hassle-free service and the wide range of lease deals available across top brands. Matthew discussed the needs and requirements of the business to identify the contract term, annual mileage allowance, and the initial rental payment amount. Matthew was then able to provide a series of quotations, secure the funding and arrange delivery of the vehicles ordered. This marked the start of Simpsons Malt growing and managing their fleet with Synergy Car Leasing.

Fast forward to today and Simpsons Malt now have a collection of lease vehicles with Synergy Car Leasing, including Nissan Navaras, Mitsubishi Outlanders and L200 pickups, as well as a selection of vehicles from the Audi range.
